BIRMINGHAM, UK: With over 400 exhibitors at the 2019 British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show, there were a range of product launches and partnership announcements. Among the first to make such a pronouncement was Philips Oral Healthcare, which took the opportunity to publicise its new agreement with the International Alignment Science (IAS) Academy, an international faculty that provides guidance for dentists seeking to improve their orthodontic skills.

The agreement centres on Philips Zoom! tooth whitening solutions and will allow the company to offer a take-home kit with trays for dental patients eager to brighten their smiles away from the dental practice. The kits will arrive with the trays ready for immediate use by the patient, according to Darren Coppe, senior sales manager at Philips UK and Ireland.

“Thanks to this new partnership, dentists who order Philips Zoom! kits for their patients will only need to order what they need on a case-by-case basis,” said Coppe. “This means there will be no shelf life concerns, no risk of stock being lost, and no stock holding issues for dentists.”

Dr Tif Qureshi, founder and a clinical director of the IAS Academy, was also on hand to discuss the arrangement. “Tooth whitening with a tray that works well should be offered in every dental practice, but it’s unfortunately not the case at the moment,” he said.

“Working with an industry leader like Philips will help us make this goal a reality,” Qureshi continued.
