BIRMINGHAM, UK: The advantages of hands-on training and in-person learning are innumerable, especially in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, as the UK is currently navigating through the third national lockdown, CloserStill Media has decided to postpone the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show (BDCDS), one of the UK’s largest dental events, to June 2021. The event organisers hope that the postponement will allow a safe and enjoyable experience for dental professionals who seek to advance their industry expertise.

The event, which was originally scheduled for 2020, will now take place on Friday and Saturday, 25 and 26 June 2021, in Hall 5 of the Birmingham National Exhibition Centre.

Keeping its tradition, the BDCDS will once again be presented in collaboration with the British Dental Association (BDA) and will deliver two days of enhanced continuing professional development opportunities for the entire dental team. As in the previous events, attendees will have opportunities to engage in numerous sessions hosted by renowned speakers, to participate in conference streams dedicated to the different branches of dentistry and to interact with hundreds of dental manufacturers who will be available to present their latest innovations.

Commenting on the postponement, BDA Chief Executive Martin Woodrow said in a press release: “The BDA believe that moving the show to June 2021 puts us in a much more comfortable position to run an event that really serves the profession. We’re really looking forward to delivering another excellent conference and exhibition this year, where we can all reunite and celebrate the tremendous work dental teams have carried out across the country.”

Similarly, Event Director Alex Harden said: “We want to thank all our customers and partners for their support, open discussions and encouragement. As everyone has been reminding us, great things happen when the community comes together and connects at BDCDS.”

“We will be working with our partners to finalise the details and will share more information about our plans in the coming weeks,” she added.

The BDCDS is the UK’s leading exhibition and conference for dental professionals. The event provides clinical, leadership and practical training via an extensive educational programme and hands-on workshops. It is the UK’s largest event of its kind, attracting over 9,000 attendees and more than 400 exhibitors.

The event organiser, CloserStill Media, is a professional event management company that specialises in the healthcare and technology markets. Some of the events hosted by the company include the Clinical Pharmacy Congress, the Dentistry Show, the Pharmacy Show and Acute and General Medicine.
