BIRMINGHAM, UK: At the Dentistry Show in Birmingham, Carestream Dental has launched the new CS 3600 intra-oral scanner. The company’s latest addition to its innovative product portfolio provides easier, faster and smarter scanning capabilities and enables a continuous workflow. The intelligent matching system allows addition of missing data at any time. Another feature is the auto-location function: users can jump to any position in the mouth without indicating an exact position to the system or following a specific direction.
“We firmly believe that our products offer an easy solution for today’s dental practices. And we have now developed the next stage in intra-oral scanning. CAD/CAM is the way forward. The industry is not always looking for chairside solutions for on-site restorations, but for faster and easier scanning,” said Cheryl Hayes, Education Service Manager at Carestream Dental. The CS 3600 scanner delivers accurate 2-D and 3-D images in high resolution and true colour for defined margins and enhanced diagnostics and treatment planning processes. The innovative light guidance system and sleek, lightweight design make it comfortable to hold and easy to place in the mouth, aiding data acquisition for optimal images. Users can also capture scans in areas difficult to access owing to its two rounded, interchangeable tips, which are autoclavable.
In addition, the global provider of imaging solutions and software has presented its new CS R4+ practice management system. The software helps measure practice performance in four major areas to demonstrate both successes and areas in need of improvement. It simplifies routine tasks while enhancing communication between the team and with patients. Among the program’s many options, the Springboard feature gives dentists a quick and simple overview of occupancy, appointment confirmations, treatment plan acceptance rates and re-care protocols. It also helps to identify any gaps in the appointment book.
“When you use a software product, you do not use all features of it. However, CS R4+ has so many useful options. For instance, a little while ago, we created a new appointment book for the dental staff,” commented Hayes. “We will regularly inform our customers about the many advantages of this practice management software. One of the strongest advantages has been the seamless integration of clinical reports and charts. In the industry, our software is taken as a benchmark, as it has the flexibility and functionality for every dental practice’s needs.”
Shortly before the Dentistry Show, Carestream donated US$125,000 to the American Association of Endodontists’ Foundation for Endodontics to support education and research in the field.
Visitors at the Birmingham show can experience the full range of new intra-oral scanners, practice management software and CBCT technology at the Carestream booth (H45).
