LONDON, UK: Representatives of King’s College London Dental Institute have introduced a new dental guidebook aimed at students and primary care providers. The publication, Manual for Clinical Procedures in Dentistry, is intended to provide dental professionals with a comprehensive overview of core procedures in dentistry and guidance on performing them.

According to the institute, the publication is a definitive manual on everything professionals need to know for the delivery of effective, state-of-the-art oral health care. Over 570 pages, professionals will find step-by-step guidance on several procedures in primary dental care. Edited by Emeritus Professor Nairn Wilson, a former dean and head of the institute, and King’s specialist in restorative dentistry Prof. Stephen Dunne, in collaboration with other King’s academics, it provides comprehensive coverage of all dental disciplines, including implants, endodontics and special care dentistry, as well as essential non-clinical areas, such as communicating with patients, obtaining valid consent, audit procedures and handling of complaints.

“The Manual of Clinical Procedures in Dentistry is an invaluable text for dental students and new graduates, as well as a definitive guide for the whole dental team,” the institute said in a statement.

The publication is available from Wiley publications as a paperback and in e-book format.
