BIRMINGHAM, UK: The global manufacturer 3M has used the occasion of the 2019 British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show (BDCDS) to launch Filtek Universal Restorative, a durable universal composite. The material boasts a simplified shade selection designed to cover most patients and a universal opacity that allows it to blend more naturally.
“Thanks to our patented TRUE technology, 3M’s Filtek Universal Restorative allows for restorations to retain their polish and resistance to wear over time,” said Andrew White, senior marketing executive at 3M. “In addition, the low-stress monomers that this composite possesses mean that shrinkage stress problems and risk of fracture can be minimised.”
Filtek Universal Restorative is available in eight different shades that are designed to meet most clinical and aesthetic requirements, according to the company. The material, which builds upon the success of 3M’s Filtek composite range, is indicated for use in direct anterior or posterior restorations, core build-ups and splinting, as well as indirect restorations, such as inlays, onlays and veneers.
