LONDON, UK: Global medical device company Align Technology has recently announced that it has moved its 2020 Growth Summit to an all-digital format. The event, originally planned for Dubrovnik in Croatia, will now be hosted on 19 and 20 June from a television studio and will feature expert speakers from the areas of dentistry and business.

The two-day symposium has been curated for dentists, both current Invisalign providers and those aspiring to receive Invisalign training. It will provide dental professionals with the opportunity to connect with thought leaders and listen to presentations on clinical and business development, as well as on personal growth.

The line-up will include Dr Ingo Baresel, an accomplished international speaker and author of numerous articles about digital workflows and intra-oral scanning. Baresel will describe next-level dentistry with the iTero Element 5D intra-oral scanner. He will be joined by Dr Karla Soto, a semi-finalist at the national 2017 Invisalign Summit. Also on the programme will be Dr David Galler, an Invisalign provider and a developer of a unique interproximal reduction technique, and Dr Raman Aulakh, an experienced orthodontist who has trained and certified over 3,500 specialist orthodontists and general dental practitioners across Europe in the Invisalign system.

Back by popular demand will be Ken Hughes, a leading shopping and consumer behaviourist, who will talk about “Five ways to bring patients back”.

“As one of the leaders in the world of dentistry, we believe in taking the industry forward not only through our digital technologies but also through world-class education—both clinical and business,” said Abhishek Ganguly, vice president of the general dental practitioner channel in Align Technology’s core European markets . “That is why, consistent with what we did in Copenhagen in 2018 and Berlin last year, we are continuing with our philosophy of bringing in topics from outside the dentistry world and introducing them within dentistry. If there ever has been a critical moment for us to help dentists from around the world and Europe, the Middle East and Africa with perspectives and knowledge to better face the post-COVID-19 world, it is now.”

Other speakers will include Connie Dieken, a word-renowned executive coach for senior business leaders; Adrian Gostick and Chester Elton, New York Times best-selling authors of All In, The Carrot Principle and What Motivates Me; and Dr Tim Newton, professor of psychology as applied to dentistry at King’s College London Faculty of Dentistry, Oral and Craniofacial Sciences, who will explore the subject of mental health in dentistry at a time when an already stressed profession has been further challenged by the current health pandemic.

“The timing for our virtual GP Growth Summit couldn’t have been better. Hopefully, we are approaching the last mile in the fight against this pandemic and as practice resumption becomes a priority for Invisalign and iTero doctors, the topics in our agenda and exposure to our technology should give them the necessary boost, so that they can confidently resume the work that they so strongly believe in—that transforms lives through better smiles,” Ganguly concluded.
