TePe recognised as one of UK’s best workplaces

WELLS, UK: Despite an incredibly challenging year for businesses all over the world, the UK-based subsidiary of the Swedish oral hygiene brand TePe was able to achieve tenth place in the small business category on the 2021 UK’s Best Workplaces list, recently published by Great Place to Work UK. This makes TePe one of 183 UK-based organisations recognised by its employees as having fostered a healthy workplace culture through trust, pride and camaraderie during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.

Ranked 15^th in 2020, TePe has continued to champion its considerate, compassionate and respectful culture. The award-winning health and well-being team organises regular enjoyable and informative team events which bring colleagues together to relax, learn and have fun. Specifically, over lockdown, employees have enjoyed virtual events such as team quizzes, Pilates classes, boot camp classes, virtual curry nights and health workshops. They have also received various treats, including packages filled with chocolates, delicious pub snacks and gifts of garden seeds to encourage outdoor activity.

TePe has trained a team member to become a qualified mental health first-aider, and an employee assistance programme is also available to all staff.

Caroline Addis-Mitchell, TePe UK’s financial controller and human resources (HR) manager, said: “We’re honoured to have been recognised as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for 2021. Our results showed that 100% of the team voted that they are proud to work at TePe and believe that it is a psychologically and emotionally healthy place to work.”

“After a difficult year for many, supporting and encouraging each other has been incredibly important. We’re very proud of the inclusive culture we’ve created, and the hard work the team has put in to be ranked for the second consecutive year,” she added.

Understanding the perspective of employees is key to building a successful workplace environment. To determine an organisation’s ranking, Great Place to Work administers their comprehensive employee survey which represents three-quarters of an organisation’s final score. The remaining quarter of the score comes from the culture audit—a business-driven questionnaire that uncovers and evaluates the organisation’s HR and leadership practices, policies and culture.
