LONDON, UK: The British Dental Association (BDA) has encouraged dentists worldwide to come together and celebrate their profession today by using the hashtag #dentistry24 for posts on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. The campaign aims to share online the positive impact and experiences of members of the dental profession during a 24-hour period.
This same date last year saw the debut of this event generate over two million Twitter impressions from tweets that included the hashtag #dentistry24. It was initiated by UK-based dentists Drs Tashfeen Kholasi and Devika Vadher, along with a team of Health Education England Clinical Fellows, who sought to replicate the success of the earlier #pharmacy24 campaign.
To get involved, dental professionals, students and anyone interested can follow the #dentistry24 team’s Twitter and Instagram accounts, where they will be highlighting stories of dentists at work and sharing career development advice, as well as promoting the BDA’s public health campaigns regarding sugar, children’s oral health, oral cancer and more. Using the hashtag #dentistry24 in dentistry-related posts will also allow for these posts to be easily searched by those participating in this campaign.
