BIRMINGHAM, UK: Nothing has changed the dental landscape more dramatically in recent years than the introduction of digital technology. Reflecting the ever-growing trend here in the UK and around the globe, dental equipment and services provider Henry Schein has put its complete offering for the digital workflow on display at the BDIA Dental Showcase for visitors to try out.

The company’s digital portfolio offers everything needed for restoring teeth by digital means, including state-of-the-art digital scanners, milling solutions and 3-D printers. All this is brought together by the ConnectDental platform, which has helped numerous dental professionals in recent years to make the difficult leap into digital dentistry. To prove their competence, visitors are being invited until Saturday to compete in a digital scanner challenge with an Apple smart watch as the prize for the shortest scanning time. Furthermore, the company is supporting the Dental Practice of the Future showcase at BDIA with equipment and through speakers who are going to talk about their experiences and the outlook for the digital practice over the next two days.

“This is definitely something that you will see more and more from us in the future,” promised John Maloney, Director of Equipment at Henry Schein Dental.

Managing Director Patrick Allen added that, for the first time, his company is cooperating with equipment provider A-dec. The new partnership was announced at the end of last month and will allow Henry Schein to distribute A-dec’s range of well-known dental chairs and high-quality clinical solutions in the UK and Ireland.

“A-dec is a very respected and trusted brand,” he commented. “This will add some tremendous dental units to our already comprehensive portfolio of treatment centres.”

Reflecting on the show, Patrick said that the first day of this year’s BDIA Dental Showcase was one of the best the company had ever had. “I think we all had some reservations when the Dental Showcase announced a change of ownership last year, but I think we can all agree to lay these now to rest.”

Visitors can find Henry Schein at Booth E20/F20.
