BIRMINGHAM, UK: COLTENE, a leading international developer and manufacturer of dental equipment and materials, has highlighted BRILLIANT COMPONEER at the recent British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show. These prefabricated composite shells combine the advantages of direct restorations with indirect veneering techniques and are designed for aesthetic restorations in the anterior zone, according to the company.
Dr Chris Siddons, principal dental surgeon at the Burley Dental Suite, was at the COLTENE stand to provide a first-hand demonstration of how easy BRILLIANT COMPONEER is to use. The shells, which use the submicron filler technology of COLTENE’s BRILLIANT EverGlow, are characterised by a high level of gloss retention and high colour stability. In addition, their smooth surface enables quick and easy polishing with excellent aesthetic outcomes.
According to COLTENE, the dentine-like modulus of elasticity of BRILLIANT COMPONEER allows the restorative material to withstand high tensile forces and thus reduces the risk of chipping or cracking.
Siddons remarked that the feedback from his patients has been uniformly positive. “I have to admit that I have had 100 per cent patient satisfaction when using BRILLIANT COMPONEER,” he said. “The combination of minimally invasive dentistry and an ability to create restorations in just one session means that I have a lot of happy patients.”
