BIRMINGHAM, UK: From tomorrow, dental professionals in the UK will once again have the opportunity to see and experience the best the market has to offer when the 2016 Dentistry Show and Dental Technology Showcase open at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.

Over 7,500 visitors are expected for both events, which will be held over the course of the next two days in the centre’s Halls 11 and 12. In addition to the free trade shows, which will see participation by over 400 national and international dealers and manufacturers, there will be plenty of educational offers to bring dentists up to speed with newest developments in many clinical areas and other fields in dentistry, such as practice management. Supported by a number of professional organisations, there will be education theatres dedicated to implantology, orthodontics (including short-term orthodontic treatment), endodontics and periodontology throughout the show floor.

Regulars like the Dental Business Theatre will also see a return. Visitors will be able to gain continuing professional development (CPD) credits with every session they attend.

As the largest dental laboratory event of the year, the Dental Technology Showcase (DTS) will offer an inspirational two-day educational programme delivered by nationally and internationally prominent speakers, according to the organiser. “DTS 2015 was an excellent event for the dental laboratory team, with a good mix of stands and CPD,” Sue Adams, Chief Executive of the Dental Technologists Association (DTA), remarked. “This is an important show for the DTA, as it enables us to meet dental technicians and demonstrate the services and support we offer. It provides a great opportunity to meet with existing DTA members and show non-members how we can help them.”

Both the Dentistry Show and the DTS will see new product launches from a number of the major competitors in dentistry, including A-dec, Philips, Carestream, Nobel Biocare and 3M. For example, Danish equipment manufacturer 3DISC is showcasing the latest additions to its digital imaging portfolio, including the compact and fast phosphor plate FireCR Dental Reader, as well as the FireCam HD intra-oral camera, for the first time. Henry Schein, which is sponsoring the VIP Lounge in cooperation with American Express, will have on display a wide variety of industry-leading products and technologies designed to help practices thrive, including the ConnectDental digital solution. At the Dental Tribune International booth (M100), visitors will be able to pick up their own copy of the latest Dental Tribune UK, as well as obtain information about the publisher’s other projects, including its specialty magazines for endodontics and orthodontics, as well as the Dental Tribune Study Club and events such as the ROOTS SUMMIT in Dubai.

Access to both the Dentistry Show and DTS is free. For more information, visit the official congress websites at www.thedentistryshow.co.uk and www.the-dts.co.uk. The latest news from the show floor, as well as exclusive interviews and impressions, is available on the Dental Tribune UK & Ireland website and Facebook page.
