ZURICH, Switzerland: As part of restructuring measures after Danaher’s acquisition of Nobel Biocare, the Swiss dental implant company has appointed a Brit to its non-executive board. According to a press release, Danaher’s Chief Financial Officer for Europe, Colin Davis, assumed responsibilities as chairman of the company’s Audit Committee in December.
In addition, he will be a member of the Nomination and Compensation Committee, the company said.
Davis has been with the US business conglomerate since 1999. Prior to that he held financial positions in a number of other German and US businesses.
His appointment was approved by Nobel Biocare's board of directors at a special meeting after the settlement of a public tender from Danaher last month.
Davis is joined by other Danaher executives, including Senior Vice President and General Counsel Jonathan P. Graham, as well as Vice President Business Development and Strategy Dental Mischa Reis and Vice President and Managing Director of Corporate Development Europe Philip Bernard Whitehead, who was appointed chairman of the board.
Danaher put out a tender of CHF2 billion (£1.3 billion) for Nobel Biocare in September. After the acquisition, it now holds approximately 97 per cent of the issued registered shares of the Zurich-based company.
