VEVEY, Switzerland: Introduced by Swiss endodontic company Produits Dentaires (PD) at the 2019 International Dental Show, EssenSeal is an innovative sealer designed for advanced root canal therapy. Engineered and manufactured by the company, it enables more effective root canal sealing to limit the growth of residual bacteria and prevent any resumption of infection. This is possible because of its unique formula featuring melaleuca, or tea-tree oil.
PD believes that outstanding sealing is a fundamental step of root canal therapy. EssenSeal belongs to the zinc oxide eugenol family of filling materials, which are widely recognised for their numerous properties essential for ensuring the long‐term success of root canal therapy.
EssenSeal is easy to manipulate and highly flowable, allowing the dental professional to deliver perfect 3-D sealing. In addition, it has excellent physicochemical properties and an extremely pleasant tea-tree scent. Just like other zinc oxide eugenol products in the PD range, EssenSeal has a very small volumetric change once it has set, is thixotropic, and, owing to its very small particle size, easily penetrates the root canal anatomy and provides remarkable covering of the entire root canal wall. EssenSeal’s exceptional chemical properties guarantee a working time of 60 minutes and a setting time of less than 3 hours.
An additional advantage of EssenSeal is its ease of use. Designed to simplify obturation procedures, the mixing ratio for EssenSeal is as simple as one drop of liquid to one spoon of powder. This simple mixing procedure ensures optimum consistency in every application. Its vial format, with a capacity of 15 g of powder and 10 ml of liquid, offers a cost-efficient solution for dental professionals.
EssenSeal can be applied with ease using PD’s gutta-percha points and diffuses an agreeable scent, making it one of the most pleasant sealers available.
This premium product joins a growing list of innovative high‐quality products developed by PD to meet the needs of dentists and endodontists worldwide. Learn more at https://pd-dental.com/.
