DUBLIN, Ireland: Aiming for the rapidly growing digital implantology market, DENTSPLY IMPLANTS has announced the incorporation of SimPlant, dental practice software for implant treatment planning developed by Materialise Dental, into its digital open solutions portfolio. The solution, which includes ATLANTIS abutments, is intended to facilitate a fully individualised immediate restoration in one sitting, the dental implant solutions provider said.
The Immediate Smile concept is currently shown to visitors of the EAO Annual Scientific Meeting in Dublin. According to DENTSPLY, it will be available for all major implant systems and in all major markets. Clinicians interested in participating in the launch of the solution can register on Materialise’s website.
The dental division of the Belgian company Materialise has been part of DENTSPLY since 2006. It launched the first version of its planning software in 1991. Last year, a more user-friendly version, SimPlant GO, was released.
Dr Anders Holmén, Director of Global Product Management, Digital Implant Solutions, DENTSPLY Implants, commented: “Immediate Smile is a unique solution, through which at implant installation, in one single visit, the surgical guide, a patient-specific ATLANTIS abutment and a temporary restoration can be provided. Everything is planned, processed and produced via a seamless digital pathway. This results in an expedited treatment process of high quality, serving our customers in a very effective way and delivering satisfaction and comfort to patients.”
In addition to Immediate Smile, DENTSPLY has a new short implant for the ANKYLOS implant system and the XiVE Platform-Switch on display. Available for both DENTSPLY implant systems, the WeldOne supports immediate loading solutions that allow dental professionals to create temporary and durable restorations reinforced by titanium frameworks welded directly in the mouth.
