HEMEL HEMPSTEAD & SHEFFIELD, UK: Users of the CS 3500 or CS 3600 intra-oral scanner from Carestream will soon have more treatment options available, as the company has announced that it has entered into a new partnership with C-Thru aligners provider ArchformByte. Under the agreement, clinicians can send digital impressions captured with the scanners online directly from the chair to ArchformByte’s laboratories in Sheffield to have aligners manufactured within a day.
ArchformByte CEO Pennie Hudson Ward announced that her company is further offering practices that purchase a Carestream Dental intra-oral scanner a free C-Thru case, as well as a 10 per cent discount on all future cases.
“We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Carestream Dental,” she said. “The CS 3500 and CS 3600 intraoral scanners are incredibly compatible with our C-Thru Clear Aligners, and produce great results for both patients and dentists.”
“With an accuracy of approx. 60 microns across a full arch, and a dentist-to-laboratory transfer time of only 2–3 minutes via Carestream CS Connect software, not only will this result in a supremely accurate C-Thru Clear Aligner, but communication with ArchformByte can be possible whilst the patient is still in the chair,” added Carestream Dental CAD/CAM Product Specialist and Business Manager for UK, North and East Europe, Middle East, and South Africa, David Claridge.
Manufactured entirely in the UK, C-Thru aligners were launched in 2012 as an effective and discrete orthodontic solution. Advertised as more cost-effective than other leading market solutions, they offer highly accurate incremental movements for fast and effective smile improvement. Featuring a light projection system, intelligent matching and autoclavable tips, among other things, the CS 3600, as well as its predecessor, the CS 3500, represents the state of the art in intra-oral capturing technology.
