CHESHAM – The British Dental Trade Association (BDTA), which represents manufacturers and suppliers of dental products, services and technologies throughout the UK, has announced that it will be changing its name to the British Dental Industry Association to reflect a broadening of the its member base in recent years. The change will be effective on 1 January 2014.
“The renaming of the association to the British Dental Industry Association is a milestone marking the change in membership that has taken place in recent years. There has been a widening of members’ interests beyond the trade that has seen it become more representative of the industry as a whole,” said BDTA President Terry Porter.
According to the BDTA, the new name was chosen to reflect that over 20 per cent of member companies are involved in business, financial, and publishing services. It further disclosed that the name change is part of a wider five-year business plan ratified by the BDTA’s council at a meeting earlier this month, which will be focusing on lobbying, statistics and information, exhibitions, and opportunities for networking and partnerships.
