MANCHESTER, UK: The British Dental Association (BDA) in London has announced that extra security measures have been put in place for its upcoming conference after last night’s bombing at a concert in Manchester. It also said that it is in touch with all the relevant authorities as the situation in the city unfolds.

To be held from Thursday to Friday this week, the annual event will be going ahead as planned, the BDA declared this morning in a note to the press. While the venue will be open as usual, attendees are most likely to face travel restrictions and should keep themselves updated through regular travel channels, like the Transport for Greater Manchester website.

The event is scheduled to be held at the Manchester Central Convention Complex, which is located in the area of Deansgate near the city centre. Over 4,000 dental professionals are expected to attend the three-day conference, which aims to update dentists on the latest issues and clinical developments in dentistry. It will also feature an extensive industry exhibition.

The situation in Manchester remains tense, with police still investigating last night’s bombing at the Manchester Arena that, according to officials, left 22 people dead and over 50 injured. The attack, believed to have been executed by a yet unidentified individual, is one of the most fatal terror-related incidents in Great Britain in recent years.
