LONDON, UK: At the BDIA Dental Showcase, Wrights announced the exclusive distribution of Pentron products in the UK. The established British dental supplier has added the US company’s range of cements, composites, alginates and other high-quality products to its portfolio. The partnership allows Wrights to offer new products aimed at meeting the everyday needs of dentists. According to both companies, the UK market is experiencing growing demand for composites and first-rate adhesive systems.
“Pentron is definitely a leading manufacturer in the industry. It has very high-quality products that are clinically proven. We have looked at the strengths and value of the products and definitely consider them a great addition to our portfolio,” said Ahmed Zaher, head of marketing at Wright Health Group, on the partnership. Jeroen Deenen, Sales Director for Western Europe at Pentron, added: “In order for our products to attain the best reach in the UK, we wanted to have a strong and established partner. We know the UK market is challenging, but as in any other European market, there is a high demand for value brand products among British dentists. At Pentron, we talk about value beyond price. We only offer high-value brands, but at affordable prices.”
One of the top products to be sold through Wrights will be Pentron’s Simile universal composite. The light-curing nano-hybrid composite is available in 18 universal VITA shades, adapts well to the cavity and does not adhere to the instrument. In a testimonial, Czech dentist Dr Ladislav Junek attested to its clinical use: “It has very comfortable manipulation and great shade variability to satisfy the needs of high aesthetics in every day practice.” Other advantages of Simile include excellent surface smoothness, easy polishability and good wear resistance. Another Pentron product to be included in the Wrights portfolio is the Bond-1 Primer/Adhesive fifth-generation total-etch bonding system, which offers high bond strength and reduced sensitivity.
Wrights is a leading dental supplier in the UK with over 30,000 products and boasts more than 100 years of experience. During the Dental Showcase in London, the company exhibited the latest innovations from leading brands, including prostheses, ceramics, composites, CAD/CAM systems, wax and modelling products, consumables and equipment. Wrights recently announced that customers can now place orders until 6 p.m. and that it now also offers a handpiece repair centre. In addition, it is known for having one of the most modern factories in the world.
Pentron, established in 1967, is a leading US-based manufacturer of composites, cements, bonding agents, post and cores, as well as impression and temporary materials. Since 2012, the company has sold its entire range of products exclusively through dealers and distributors, such as Wrights. This has allowed Pentron to provide more support to dentists while enhancing their purchasing experience and options. Pentron is part of the well-known KaVo Kerr Group of dental brands. The company has been merged with part of DUX Dental, which KaVo Kerr acquired in 2014.
