DUBLIN, Ireland: At the Annual Scientific Meeting of the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO) held in Dublin last month, EAO President Pascal Valentini presented the organisation’s Certificate in Implant-based Therapy to participants in the EAO certification programme. Three candidates received the certificate, two of whom are graduates of the Global Institute for Dental Education’s (gIDE) Master Clinician Program in Implant Dentistry.
According to the EAO, the certificate was developed to raise standards of oral implant therapy across Europe. Obtaining the certificate demonstrates that the holder is competent to perform basic and advanced implant treatment, the organisation stated.
GIDE has a teaching staff of clinicians and researchers from the US, Europe and Australasia, and provides online dental education in the fields of aesthetic and implant dentistry, periodontics and oral surgery, among others. It offers a one-year Master Clinician Program in Implant Dentistry in the US, Canada, Europe, Taiwan, China and Australia, which is taught in the classroom and online by top implant clinicians and researchers. The intensive programme includes hands-on courses, lectures, live surgeries and case presentations.
GIDE was founded in 2003. In June 2006, the Institute moved its headquarters to a former recording studio in Los Angeles. It is a certified provider of ADA CERP and AGD continuing education credits. Currently, dentists from over 100 countries access its web-based lectures, certificate modules, and clinical videos 24/7.
