GERRARDS CROSS, UK: In order to improve its activities in the promotion of endodontic treatment, the British Endodontic Society is currently inviting dentists and patients to take part in an online survey that asks both groups to share their experiences of the procedure. Clinicians only have the opportunity to complete the questionnaire on root canal treatment until Saturday, 18 October.
The organisation has also asked dentists to encourage patients to take part in a second survey, which is intended to evaluate their response to treatment. Questions include how painful the procedure was and whether they would recommend the procedure to friends and family. Both surveys are being conducted though SurveyMonkey, a US company that provides a suite of online survey development tools.
It is estimated that over one million patients a year undergo endodontic treatment in the UK. Since 1963, the British Endodontic Society has been representing the interests of the profession.
