SARONNO, Italy: Mouth ulcers are among the most common oral cavity conditions, closely followed by soft-tissue lesions caused by wearing fixed orthodontic appliances and mouth sores caused by various forms of cancer treatment, food allergies and intolerances, autoimmune syndromes, hormonal problems, infectious diseases, genetic predispositions and diet-related disorders, among other factors.
In some cases, mouth ulcers can be a simple consequence of local injuries, such as trauma in chewing and erosion caused by excessively vigorous use of toothbrushes, interdental brushes or other oral hygiene instruments. The onset of a mouth ulcer is often preceded by a burning sensation that normally presents one or two days beforehand in the area where the lesion will form, even when the mucosa has a normal appearance. After this first phase, localised redness appears in the affected area, evolving into a round yellowish-white lesion.
Ulcers, sores and other lesions can occur on the gingiva and tongue, inside the lips and cheeks, and on the roof or floor of the mouth. They can cause swelling in the mouth, be unbearably painful and make it difficult to eat, talk and swallow.
Consisting of a mouthwash, a protective gel and a spray, Curasept Afterapid is a line of oral healthcare products with an innovative formulation that includes exclusive ingredients with protective, anti-inflammatory, anti-oedematous and reparative elements, such as tea tree and manuka oil, 18-beta glycyrrhetinic acid, allantoin and ruscogenin. Biomoist hyaluronic acid plays a pivotal role in mitigating inflammation and fostering the repair and protection of gingival and mucosal cells. Furthermore, the formula incorporates plant-derived DNA and RNA fractions, renowned for their anti-inflammatory properties, capable of activating biological mechanisms conducive to tissue repair.

The formula’s innovation stems from the synergy of these ingredients within Curasept Afterapid. The formulation directly addresses oral lesions in the layers most affected by the degenerative process, stimulating cell proliferation and wound repair and ultimately leading to a reduction in healing time. By leveraging the action of polynucleotides, Curasept Afterapid preserves cell viability and facilitates the proliferation of blood vessels and other tissue. Concurrently, the presence of hyaluronic acid fosters an optimal microenvironment for the neoformation of connective tissue and epithelium, offering protection against potential infections. This concerted approach accelerates healing processes, leading to a noticeable reduction in pain symptoms from the first use.
