CHELTENHAM, UK: Another UK-based dental chain could be changing hands soon, as Sky News has reported the owner of Portman Dental Care in Cheltenham to be in talks with trade and equity bidders about a multimillion-pound takeover.
The estimated value of the auction, which is being managed by investment bank Moelis, according to Sky, is £300 million. It would follow Bupa’s £835 million takeover of the Oasis dental group in 2017.
Portman operates around 60 practices around the country and has reportedly been growing its profits since it was founded in 2009. Its current CEO, Sam Waley-Cohen, rose to fame after winning the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 2011 as an amateur jockey.
No comments have been released by him or the company about the matter.
