ENDERBY, UK/SCHAAN, Liechtenstein: Dental manufacturer Ivoclar Vivadent is calling on dentists in the UK and Ireland to enter their most impressive work for the IPS e.max Smile Award 2016. Held for the first time, this worldwide competition will recognise extraordinary aesthetic and dental restoration cases that use the company’s all-ceramic system.
Clinicians and dental technicians are called upon to submit their individual cases by 28 February next year, the manufacturer said. Entries will be accepted online at ipsemax.com/smileaward.
After the February closing date, a panel of industry experts will evaluate the entries based on aesthetics, complexity and harmony. The best three teams from Europe/Middle East and Africa, North America and Oceania as well as Latin America and Asia will be announced next June. They will be awarded during Ivoclar Vivadent’s International Expert Symposium, to be held in Madrid, Spain.
Introduced to dental markets over a decade ago, the e.max system has become one of the world’s most popular and successful all-ceramic systems, covering a wide range ndications, from thin veneers used in single-tooth restorations to crowns and wide-span bridges. It is currently available in lithium disilicate and zirconium oxide and can be used for the press technique and CAD/CAM technology. According to Ivoclar Vivadent, IPS e.max is backed up by a decade of clinical studies and more than 100 million restorations.
