Mocom has been distributing its extensive line of products through a number of dealers in the UK so far. For the first time, the Italian manufacturer is presenting with its own brand of products at the BDIA Dental Showcase in London. Dental Tribune Online had the opportunity to speak briefly with company representatives about the reasons for doing so and what they have in store for visitors.
Dental Tribune Online: You are currently represented by four or five dealers in the UK market. What was the incentive behind showcasing your brand of products directly at this year’s Dental Showcase?
Nicola Zanotti: The main reason is to present our brand of products directly to a UK audience. The market here does not represent a big portion our overall business yet. We are not as familiar to many dental professionals as some of the local brands. We are represented by several dealers though.
What is your flagship product here, and what benefits does it offer to dental professionals?
Luca Graziani: The focus of our stand here is our new thermal disinfector, Tethys H10 Plus, which decontaminates, washes, thermally disinfects and dries instruments with hot air, all in a single process, automatically preparing them for subsequent packaging and sterilisation. The device uses ultrasound for the washing process and, to the best of our knowledge, is the only machine on the market right now that offers that feature.
Tethys H10 Plus is not only easy to operate, but also makes the assistant’s work much safer because it takes over all the manual tasks on which the assistant previously had to spend a great deal of time. The main idea behind the machine was to significantly reduce the time and costs usually associated with disinfection.
How has the machine been received thus far?
Zanotti: Mocom is the only manufacturer that produces this kind of device that offers the advantages of ultrasound. Generally, the machine has been quite well received. The product is definitely something the market lacked before.
Thank you very much for the interview.
