Event 07 November 2015

I am delighted to announce the opening of registrations for our 2015 Members’ National Forum, our unique and popular event delivered by ADI members to an enthusiastic and supportive audience of fellow ADI members, which takes place every two years and is a highlight of our meetings calendar.

We return to the Royal College of Physicians, London, where we held the Forum in 2013. We have found this to be an excellent venue, easily accessible and just 10 minutes walk from bustling Oxford Street whilst being located in a very peaceful spot overlooking Regent’s Park.

This year’s programme will consist of 24 lectures in two parallel streams. On this occasion, to achieve a good balance both streams will be mixed rather than having distinct surgical and restorative streams. You will be able to move between streams to attend the lectures of your choice (but out of consideration for the speakers we ask that if you wish to change rooms you do so following a catering break rather than during a particular session).

A wide variety of important topics will be covered including peri-implantitis, grafts, full arch reconstruction, audit, cone beam CT, the role of the hygienist, and implant overdentures. We will be delighted to welcome the winner of the 2015 Congress Poster Prize, Dr Matthew Miller, to talk on implant rehabilitation in a case of cleidrocranial dysostosis. The full programme and the speakers’ abstracts are available for you to view on the website.

I would like to thank the ADI Sub-committee which reviewed submissions and took great care with finalising the programme – Steve Jones (Chair), Peter Fairbairn, Karen Walker and Abid Faqir.

We will also be pleased to welcome a number of our company members who will have stands in the Osler Room, where we will be serving lunch as well as having our tea breaks. This will be a great opportunity to catch up with the latest developments in the implant market.

The ADI’s Annual General Meeting will be held during the day, where we will review recent activities and developments at the ADI. During the AGM I will have the pleasure of handing over the Presidency to my friend and colleague Craig Parker, and we will also announce the results of this year’s Committee elections.

Directly after the close of the Forum, I do hope that you will stay for a while and enjoy drinks with Committee members, speakers and fellow ADI members in the pleasant surroundings of the RCP.

So I urge you to come and enjoy our special event, with superb lectures from both experienced lecturers and newcomers to the podium, as well as a fantastic opportunity to spend time with friends and participate in the life of our successful and vibrant organisation.

Phil Friel
ADI President
